Ionization in ESD control
Ionization neutralizes electrostatic charge using positive and negative ions. It is mainly used for insulators or isolated conductors that cannot be effectively grounded.
When ionization is used
Ionization can protect a sensitive process, but it does not replace grounding where grounding is possible. Performance depends on position, airflow, distance, neutralization time and regular verification of ion balance.
