Insulator in an EPA
An insulator is a material through which electrical charge does not move readily. Charge can remain localized and cannot be reliably removed simply by connecting the material to ground.
Managing insulators in an EPA
Common insulators include certain plastics, glass, adhesive tapes and synthetic materials. Unnecessary insulators are kept away from ESDS items. Essential insulators are assessed by risk, distance and charge level, and ionization may be used for neutralization.
