Grounding in ESD control

Grounding is the electrical connection of a person, work surface or equipment to ground so that charge can be removed safely and parts of the system can be maintained at a similar potential.

Grounding as a system

Conductive and dissipative items that require grounding are interconnected within the EPA. The path must be designed, installed and verified for the workplace; the presence of a ground cord alone does not prove that protection is effective.
