Common point ground

A common point ground is a shared grounding point to which ESD workstation elements, such as a work surface mat and wrist strap, are connected.

Purpose of a common point ground

It connects relevant workstation elements to the same reference and provides a clear, verifiable grounding arrangement. Its position, connections and any protective resistance must match the workstation design and equipment used.
