What does antistatic mean?

Antistatic generally means that a material or product reduces the generation of electrostatic charge. The term alone does not specify electrical performance or prove suitability for an EPA.

Antistatic is not the same as ESD-suitable

Selection should be based on intended use, technical parameters, test method and integration into the complete protection system. An “antistatic” marketing claim is not a substitute for a data sheet or workplace verification.
